Wooden Sash

A large portion of my Heritage Work has involved the rehabilitation of old wooden windows and the milling and installation of period-matching wooden windows with enhanced weatherproofing features.

This first project is a rehabilitation of large arched wooden sash in the old Opera House at Melville, Saskatchewan. Each large window consisted of twelve different wooden sash with hopper style and casement openers on the bottom level of some of the windows. Some of these sash were extremely weather damaged from decades of exposure. Working for the client, we kept the space very clean to allow for continued use of the space for dance classes and other community events.

Stone Church, Wapella, Saskatchewan. A deconsecrated church that the community was turning into a museum/community space. This was a fun project!

Private residence designed by Clifford Wiens, a prominent architect on the prairies in the early 20th century. This house had the windows replaced over the years and we undertook the project to bring the sash back to original with upgraded weather protection.
